architectural competition for the area eastern of Kamares in Kavala, Greece

kamares: aquaduct, the “gate” of the city

The water route: a symbolic journey parallel to the aquaduct. A path for visitors starting from Suyulu (in turkish:the water route) neigbourhood to the Castle. The route passes through little thematic gardens (spring, roses, orangetrees, viewpoints) and the large open square, surrounded by tobacco warehouses and two important streets. It is here that  the water enters (symbolic) the city, scalpped on the floor. The square is higher than the streets with some shops and a parking underneath.
